The Reptile House & Rescue is our area’s only 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated reptile and amphibian no-kill animal shelter and rescue. We are also our region's only Rescue Zoo with over 60 rehabilitated reptiles and amphibians on exhibit and used as educational ambassadors.
Located inside West Virginia’s largest mall – The Huntington Mall in Barboursville, WV, The Reptile House & Rescue allows guests to embark on a journey throughout the world learning, viewing, and go hands-on with reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats.

Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians, and is a branch of Zoology. Zoology is the study of animals, and is a branch of Biology. Biology is the study of all living things. We teach that all areas of science (and other studies) all work together to keep our biosphere functional.
The Reptile House & Rescue hosts many family-friendly events outside of our facility in order to teach real-world practices to make our world a better place.
